I am considering switching from xfce (xubuntu 14.04) to mate (ubuntu mate 18.04) at the end of the month
In xubuntu i have been using the the xfce4-genmon-pluginn applet, there are a few i would like to make actual applets as the command applet lacks some features i need to everything i want
I need to know how to make the applet as in where i need to put the files and example file(s)
A need to know how to set/change the applets icon, text label, tooltip, and click actions.
I will be making URL request to a local network system in some cases, running shell commands/scripts and reading file contents
Not a developer, but I have seen some talk about the Mate University repository in github.
