My worklaptop (Acer Swift One) suddenly did not want to charge anymore.
I clicked the batteryindicator and it showed the status: "waiting to charge" but it didn't charge at all although I tried it for a few days.
I was prepared to order a new battery but I wanted to try to fix it first, if possible.
Although meant for ASUS and for MS-Windows only , this site was helpful, especially Fix 3:

Fix 3 also worked on my ACER and probably on a lot more laptops:
Switch the Laptop off and then press and hold the powerbutton for about a minute.
If it works on your laptop, it will reset the charging controller and afterwards everything is back to normal and charging will be possible again
