I want to import music from BBC programs and other official channels - for example, the 2012 Celtic Connections Gerry Rafferty Remembrance Concert, or the myriad songs available through iTunes. - How do I do it?
What do you mean by “import”? Import from files you already own in another location or in another format? Or, import from particular commercial websites?
Hello @GrahamR
If I understand correctly you wish to “import songs from iTunes” is that correct?
Do you have an iTunes account? If so, you most probably are aware that iTunes does NOT work on Linux.
However here’s an article on which you can find a good alternative on how to do so but I would suspect that nothing beats the original (running iTunes on a Mac that is):
Going to plan B, how about registering to Google Play as that allows you to stream as much as you want (unlike iTunes) and you also get 2 months free which is also, I believe, superior to the iTunes “deal”
Hope this helps,
Yes, that’s right, but it’s a “Nice to have” thought - nothng desperate. I’ll check out the article.
Thanks.
Be advise however that having an iTunes account also does NOT entitle you to streaming all of their library unlike G-play.
If you are trying to import files from Itunes, then one solution would be to install virtual box. Install a copy of windows in it. Install Itunes in windows. On your host, set a folder as shared with the virtual Windows machine. Inside the virtual windows machine, set your Itunes download folder to this shared folder. That way, your host has immediate and full access to all of the tunes.
