Increasing awareness of UbuntuMATE and its Community

I just wanted to put out there that people, who can find the time to do so, consider reviewing the questions on the primary Ubuntu Discourse site (not the UM flavour topics), to see if they can answer questions by giving brief feedback but, more importantly, be able to make reference to very relevant UbuntuMATE discussion posts/topics to redirect the main Ubuntu Community to our site for high-value responses and possibly, by those examples, convince some to "cast their eyes longingly" to potentially adopt UbuntuMATE.

Just a thought.

Wondering what others feel about

  • that strategy?
  • potential degree of success of that strategy?

Would the Ubuntu Cinnamon flavour be a good target of choice for encouraging "conversion" tactics?

I don't frequent other Linux sites/forums, but I wonder if this might not come across as "hijacking" on another distro's site? I mean, too many posts along this line might make it obvious what the intention is:

POSTER: I wonder what the best [use your choice] desktop weather indicator for Mint might be?

ME: I don't know, but I use my-weather-indicator on Ubuntu MATE.

I was intentionally obvious in the example above, but it didn't answer the original question, and might have seemed "intrusive" because it didn't. Get my point?

I was thinking more along the lines of the kind of response I gave in the following:
