Inhibit Applet using lots of CPU

Whenever I place the Inhibit Applet in the panel, it starts to use a ton of CPU. Here's resource usage before enabling it and after enabling it.

Is this a bug I should report or does anyone know of any easy fix that would stop this from happening? Or is this normal behavior for the applet? I've just started using Caffeine and haven't had the same problem, but would like to know if there's something I can do to make the Inhibit work as well.

It looks like it’s known and fixed upstream with MATE. Now it just needs to make its way into Ubuntu.
