Here's my original text of this reply of mine in English:
Hi, @andres.tecnologia (Andrés)
I'm Portuguese and although I can read and understand Spanish, I can't write in Spanish. So this reply of mine was written in English and translated with the help of "Google Translate". Let's hope the automatic translation by Google is not very bad.
I think I have some good news for you! I'm writing this reply precisely in a 12 years old HP Pavilion dv6 running "Ubuntu MATE 22.10 (Kinetic Kudu)".
The things that I remember that I had to do to be able to install Ubuntu MATE 22.10 in this machine were two:
1 - "Burn" the ISO (using "Startup Disk Creator" = usb-creator-gtk
) to an USB flash drive that has at least the size of 8 GB. I seem to remember that my early attempts of booting the HP Pavilion dv6 from the ISO burned to a 4 GB flash drive, although the ISO "fitted", had several problems.
2 - You mention that, when you try to boot from the Flash drive, the screen becomes black and doesn't advance. But you do see a blinking cursor in the upper left corner, right? If you see that, that also happened to me: the trick was simply to wait a long time (about 10 minutes or so). Eventually, the installer starts.
Good luck! Please reply again later telling if it worked for you. In case you're interested, here are my specs:
