I just installed Ubuntu Mate on an old laptop (which is very slow with Windows and Mate is indeed much faster). The next thing I tried to do - I'm a newbie - was to install Chrome. Installing starts fine, Mate ask if I want to open the file in the installation app. I click YES. But that's it, nothing happens afterwards. And when I type chrome into the search box in the upper left corner it finds nothing. I even restarted the computer.
I want to use this laptop for one purpose alone, with Chrome. So, it would be enough if I could get this one installation to work. But how?
