Hello all, I’m wondering if there is a way to install new applets? If so how would I do so and where would be a good place to find them at?
Hello RJMcKenzie,
I guess what you're asking is about doing this on mate panel
So then, just right click on any panel > add to panel
and going to Mate Tweak, will provide for you more stuff, such as indicators, advanced menu, windows compositor, etc ...
Yes that is what I was talking about. But is there a way to add more of apps to the list?
Then i don’t know - I am almost sure i saw something on the web about adding applets from (ppa?) but cannot find it …
May be somewhere on Github … or Webupd8 …
Sorry.
May i ask what you’re looking for that it is not provide by this default list ?
Mainly the current CPU and RAM usage. I know there is the graph version of it, but I would prefer text based readouts. Looking in the settings there is a way to show text only, but it always shows -1% for both of my cores.
There's a CPU frequency scaling applet too:
It can only monitor one core at a time though.
I know there is such thing on xfce (Xubuntu), but … not sure on Mate. Maybe wait for a real geek to comes arround
Other way … using conky ? but it will show mostly on desktop, i guess
The CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor is the one that only gives me -1%.
