Installing Packages, I get prompted for encryption password

I installed the whole Ubuntu Mate. Everything went well. I gave total liberty so the installer could do whatever it wanted on the disks just asked form encryption (as the laptop will be traveling frequently with me).

Then, I regret my decision: The boot process halts on the first screen and stands there. I just press escape and there is a prompt for my crypto password. Then I am asked a second time on this boot. But that is not nice, but ok.

The problem is that under the initial system update, I saw a package asking for the password too. While I was installing Docker, It just hanged for ages. I suppose due to the same problem, but the App Central don’t have a terminal screen to follow the installation process.

There is something to be done to help me with this problem?

The easiest way around the problem is to do a clean install and DON’T CHOOSE ENCRYPTION as this leads to problems as you have found out!.

Do you have a different keyboard language layout other than the system language?:

Oh no. Password, when I can see where to input it works just fine.

The easiest way, this time, is not really acceptable. As a workaround I am using aptitude as of now, and doing package installation on a terminal, as it was the dark ages. :stuck_out_tongue:

Is what I can thing about right now.

Well, kind of a moot point, since everything went crazy on the Macbook. Think I will check crypto-stuff better and try again.

Another Ubuntu Mate because, I have to say, I like what I saw, except the dock.
