Integrated WebCam on MacBook 4,1 and UMate

Hi Guys, I need some love with tunning of my new Ubuntu Mate 20.04 LTS over a Old MacBook 4,1 (Early 2008) for my Mom, to keep in touch in this time.

The integrated WebCam doesn't work !!!!

I try first with Ubuntu 20.04LTS but it's heavy for this hardware (I only put a 4GB Ram and change the HD for a small SSD that I have).

I change to Mate 20.04LTS and the MacBook now it's fast & smooth .... but .... despite all my efforts I can't make the integrated webcam work in any app (google meet, zoom, skype, etc).

I can't find how I can do it ... Can you HELP ME !!!!

TNX & Regards

Pablo

Hi
Let's try to dig with :

lspci
lsusb

Do you see some devices that looks like a camera ?

Regards,

Alex

Hi Olek, I try both of commands (lspci lsusb) and YES !!!! the line are:

Bus 002 Device 002: ID 05ac:8300 Apple, Inc. Built-in iSight (no firmware loaded)

What do you think? it could be fixed?

Thanks and regards

Pablo

This work perfect !!!!!

I only search the AppleUSBVideoSupport in web and download the file.

After follow the instruction of the tools to install then reboot .... and work !!!!

You have to pay attention in the file of AppleUSBVideoSupport they must be in Desktop folder.

Regards to all

Pablo
