I am trying to install Mate 24.04 on a x86-64 VMware VM and it freezes after the interactive questions and the >>> along the bottom freezes after about 5 min. I've tried with and without choosing to add a network connection. I've tried about 8 times and it freezes in different places but never finishes even after waiting 30 min.
When I tried to install UM 24.04 inside VirtualBox VM it froze until I disconnected VM's network adapter. Without network access installation was as quick as expected.
Thanks. I tried disconnecting from the net and it configured just fine. Then reconnected to net to install additional packages. No problem
