I've been using Ubuntu Mate 22.10 since launch and it's been amazing. But today I needed to join a video conference and the microphone is not working. In fact, it's super squeaky and my voice can barely be heard. Does anyone have an idea of what could help resolve this?
Hi seems like no response yet, I have UM22.04.1 and maybe a setting as shown in image. (I have microphone turned off in shot). Also have seen issues involving jack where you have to plug and unplug sometimes to clean. Way back my LG TV remote quit and it turned out had to plug and unplug remote jack on TV. Just some guesses as don't know your system setup.
Also think there is a mixer which I don't have.

Another thought does microphone work on another app, maybe Audacity or sound recorder (may not be installed)

Was it working in previous release before 22.10.
Do you have an external microphone or possibly headset to try?
