Is it possible to hibernate without a swap partition

I have this configuration on my disk:

with a whole partition encrypted. As far as I was able to find, there was no way to encrypt the partition but leave a swap partition, so I don't have one.

Is it still possible to hibernate? I have my system configured to suspend on lid close, but many times I find it closed but the fans spinning up really fast and the computer hot even after hours being suspended

Definitely, something is waking up your system. Did you check a mouse?

Whoops. I haven't thought about that. I have a wireless mouse connected and it could definitely be it. I've never consider that moving/clicking could wake the system with the lid closed. I'll test that.
