Is it possible to use the caja filemanager search field to search for file sizes?

I can't help you with Caja. But, here are some handy terminal commands to do the job.
I'll see if i can knock up a script to run this from Caja right click context menu.......

Yes, I always switch to the terminal for such stuff ... just though it would be cool to have this via UI.
You can also sort by size as well I suppose
You can run such search from MATE Search Tool (callable from Places→MATE Search Tool or by mate-search-tool) as it has Size at least and Size at most filters:
