Unlikely. And in the best case, it would not be very easy and would probably have a lot of issues.
Technically, with a rooted tablet, you can install a Linux distro. There’s e.g. the DebianOn project which documents installing Debian on various devices like tablets. The main issue would be drivers for the hardware that are mostly unexistent for Linux and require a lot of manual configuration for those that are.
People have succesfully installed Ubuntu/Debian on older Acer Iconia models a few years ago but with a quick search, I don’t seem to find similar experiences with your model. So, unless you’re very familiar with installing alternate software on a tablet and are willing to experiment, there’s a high chance that you’ll brick your device.
Note: there is indeed a project from Ubuntu to create a mobile OS (Ubuntu Touch) but I’m not sure it’s easily possible to install a different desktop (like MATE) instead of the Unity variant they develop. And I haven’t checked if your tablet is in the list of compatible devices.
Thank you for answer. I checked out ubuntu.com mobile, my tablet is not supported. Well, never mind. I can give it away to a grandchild as a youtube device
