“Import from File” command is a part of networking when installing a VPN in Ubuntu 22.10 'Gnome(?)' but when I boot into Mate, I cannot find that command in any Networking branch in the VPN config settings for OpenVPN.
Does anyone know why this is missing from Mate but not Gnome?
Do you have network-manager-openvpn installed?
The last option when you setup openvpn is import a vpn configuration (reads an .ovpn file)

I suspect it's installed as I see OpenVPN as one of the choices.
Yes, I now see the Import...I've never scrolled down that far in the past. Been years and I never found that. Now the trick will be to remember.
Thanks!

I tried using the "Import a saved VPN configuration" option and it always returns an error.
"The file 'filename.ovpn' could not be read or does not contain recognized VPN connection information. The plugin does not support import capability"
This repeats for every *.ovpn file that I have downloaded.
Any suggestions?
