Lag in Mate Menu

I need help I was using Ubuntu Mate 15.04 and Debian Jessie with the Mate desktop. I switched to XFCE because there seems to be a lag in the Mate Menu that was driving me nuts. It got to be a deal breaker. I miss the Mate desktop it is a lot better than XFCE does anyone have a fix for the lag? Other people I have talked with have had the same problem. I would love to go back to Mate as it is the best desktop since Gnome 2.

Not experiencing this problem myself, but I wonder if you should just go ahead and load up 15.10. Its about a month away of being a official release and IMO its way stable for everyday use now.

I had faced this problem with Ubuntu MATE 14.04 on ASUS Eee PC. The system will freeze for a couple of minutes before the menu appears. Once the Menu is launched the first time, it will wok smoothly.

So, I am not using the MATE menu now in any of my systems

I’m using 15.10 beta 2 and indeed it seems slow :frowning:

Go to the Control Panel>Appearance>Themes. Click on Custom theme. Click on Customize in the options. Go to the icons. Choose the Faenza icons. Might notice a significant improvement.

Thanks it worked. I cant believe that’s all it was.
