Lag with a fresh reinstall of 24.04.3 LTS

Hi

I did a fresh reinstall of 24.04.3 LTS on a laptop.
All fine though, but there now seems to be a ‘lag’ of a few seconds for apps to open and get feed from the web (e.g. not crisp quick and instant like under the previous install)
e.g. “waiting” for the events to show in TB calendar, or “waiting” for some web pages to open
(32 G RAM, Intel i9-14900HX and high speed connection - so not an old hardware issue)

Anybody here facing this also ?
Where should I look to see if some tweaking may make it better ?

I know. This is not life threatening :joy: But we’re used to get things quick these days, aren’t we ?

Is this install from a new iso download? I ask because the latest upgrade put me in 24.04.4.

Nevermind as I see the latest ISO download is still 24.04.3.

It was a fresh install (reinstall) from the 24.04.3 LTS ISO
Now ‘updated’ to 24.04.4 LTS
Lag disappeared
