Linux on Mobile Phone

Hi,

I guess on your mobile phone is running Linux. Android, the widely used mobile operating system, is based on the Linux kernel. But in my opinion Linux software is connected with open source and data privacy. Especially the second one is a foreign word for Google.

At least there are some alternatives:

A mobile operating system based on Ubuntu, firstly developed by canonical before it was dropped by canonical. Now UBports continues as a community project. Available for about four mobile phones.

A mobile phone from purism which will come out early 2019. Comes probably with various operating system (Pure OS, Ubuntu Touch, KDE Plasma mobile). Not cheap!

Android without Google. List of supported devices: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/

very fresh project for a new mobile operating system based on lineage os.

That’s it although this has as good as nothing to do with Ubuntu MATE (category).
I am concerned that they should team up together to develop one great alternative instead of many little ones, maybe based on Ubuntu Touch?

Regards

Mickey

PS: Install Ubuntu MATE besides Windoof or better: instead of Windows
