Lock screen with GDM instead of mate-screensaver

Greetings,

I’m not certain if this best place to post my question. I’ve installed the MATE Desktop on a system which is running the Gnome 3 Desktop. When logging into the system GDM is used to manage logins. However, when I lock the screen the mate-screensaver is used instead of the GDM lock screen.

Is there a way to configure the MATE Desktop to call the GDM lock screen instead of the mate-screensaver? I have implemented a configuration in PAM using GDM, but the mate-screensaver skips over the existing configuration. Also, using GDM for logins and locking the screen seem more uniform to me.

Hello
I have no experience with GDM lockscreen, do you have more information on this?
Is it possible to activate this lock from a command or something?

You could try running the command “dm-tool --lock”, however I’m not sure if this will work with GDM. I’ve only used it with lightDM, but it’s worth a shot anyway.

EDIT: Actually it’s “dm-tool lock”… lock is an argument not an option.
