Locking with 16.04 mate and xfx radeon 5450 any ideas please

SO I upgraded to 16.04 and now the machine locks randomly ( sometimes days go by and then WHAMMM!!!) I got the following in logs and am using the Ubuntu generic drivers so anyone know what I can do please?

Hi @theakson,

try running the following terminal command:

sudo apt-get --fix-missing install

The above command downloads and installs any missing packages on your system.

sudo apt-get --fix-broken install

The above command downloads and installs any broken dependencies on your system.

thanks for the reply but I did both of those some time ago. This seems to be an internal problem with the “supported” card and I was hoping that someone had seen it and had a fix. Nothing is missing and I have applied all updates on a regular basis. This is new with 16.04.

ALSO I forgot to mention that I already asked a question on this topic before upgrading

YEP and my card is “supported” but then again NO it isn’t :slight_smile: I was wondering if anyone had a fix ? If not I’ll reload 15 as that was working splendidly.
