Loss of control of Mouse and Keyboard when ataching Phone

The other day when I attached my Android Cell Phone I lost control of the mouse and the keyboard other then to do a Ctrl Alt F-4 and then Ctrl Alt Del to shutdown. All I did was attach my Cell Phone and when it popped up the windows to display the content of the phone that is when I lost control of the Mouse Clicking on Folders and menus in the Panel did nothing and Alt F-4 would not close the window and Ctrl Alt Del did not bring up the shutdown window. Has anyone else had this problem? I then later discovered I could hit Ctrl Alt F-7 to get back to th GUI Desktop but would that have solved my problem?
If I wanted to have my Computer crash or screw up I would have just stayed with Windows 7 or "Up Graded " to Windows 10. I installed Linux to avoid the annoying problems of Windows.

UPDATE

After I posted this that when I simply hot F-3 to get a split screen to display duel windows so I could copy or move files from 1 folder or drive to another I had the same thing happen.

Okay,

try installing the following package via the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + t):

sudo apt-get install mtp-tools

and see if that helps?. :smiley:
