Hi guys
I am now on 24.10 after a complete re-install.
I created desktop launchers as we all do. The thing is that some launchers suddenly loose their logo. I have to put it back; I know how and not a big thing... but I wonder why such thing happens.

Hello,
I did an install last night of Ubuntu MATE 24.10 and I am experimenting a lot of weird things.

  1. I had something called App Center last night and today I cannot find it o_Ô
  2. The language set during the installation process was not taking into account after I reboot. It was at the top of the language list of the "Language support", had to remove it, reboot, add it back then reboot again...
  3. "Software & Updates" takes up to 2 minutes to open... really problematic.
  4. Brick menu, I don't know, it hates me or something. It shows twice "Contacts" by Gnome, half of the entries is in English and not in my language like before. In the control centre things are properly translated, like "language support" or "printers".

re App Center
Same here. Was there once installed and then disappeared on reboot
I have in the menu a 'Snap store' and 'Software' and they quite look being the same.

After the latest reboot
I now have the ''App Centre'' back in the menu under Internet sub-menu and have ''Software'' in system tools
Didn't do nothing

Some things need a reboot to "finalize", giving/keeping a temporary assignment during install/update.

I am having problem with the (Ubuntu MATE) disk because i got an app called virtual box and it say unsupported virtual machine

I'm running oracular or 24.10 here, and can run virtualbox without issue.

If you need support; please raise a support post on this site. Without context or description of what you've done (virtualbox is not installed by default with Ubuntu MATE 24.10) so we can understand your situation.

Please also don't include an email for replies; if you ask on this site, answers will be on this site.
