Hi,
open Synaptic and type “mate meta” in search and see if it lists any Mate packages, if it does, select all the meta packages and try it, you just have to change the DE at the login window afterwards!.
If you are running Lubuntu, I don’t see why it won’t work but I could be wrong!.
If you don’t have Synaptic installed:
sudo apt-get install synaptic
Hello,
nobody else want to answer? ^^
Are there really no packages?
Did you try what I suggested Herbert?.
Hi,
yes i tried this, thank you.
I think, that there are no packages for armhf yet! normally it should exist “mate-desktop-environment” and “mate-desktop-environment-extras”, but that is missing here.

Hi Herbert,
you can try this PPA but I cannot say whether or not it will work for you so back-up all your data in case things go wrong!:
Hello,
thank you for your help. I already tried this, but it doesn’t work! This was the reason why I asked here.
I’m also running Debian Wheezy on this device and it’s working very well.
Maybe wants the Mate Team fix this blame and pushes up some packages?
Thanks a lot.
The only other option I can see is for you to download a fresh ISO of Ubuntu Mate and use a USB stick to do your install!.
Alright, wolfman. Are you able to link me an armhf ISO-File? I don’t know where to get this. I can only see ISO-Files for x86 and AMD64 architecture.
Hi Herbert,
you can try the links here and build on it once installed I assume?, I have never done it so I cannot say for certain!:
