When using mate-keyboard-properties to add a new keyboard layout, it seems that the dropdown boxes (i.e. for "Country:") have no "type-ahead support". So, to select, Lithuania, for example, I'm forced to scroll all the way down until I find it - I think it would be great if I could just type L (and i) to jump to the first language in the list that begins with those letters (whether the dropdown is open or not) - this is the way I'm used to these UI elements working on Windows, for comparison, and it saves a lot of time.
Hopefully this is the right place to make such a suggestion. Perhaps someone could point me to the implementation code; maybe I could even take a look at adding said functionality myself and contributing to this fine desktop environment.
