Mate Menu - Sorting then not sorting?!

Hey all - I make menu short cuts all the time for zip installed games. Usually, after I create the menu short cut using ‘Edit Menus’ from the Applications section - the shortcut sorts in alphabetic order into the menu it was created.

But if I happen to move a menu around manually - that menu section - say the Games section - will no longer auto sort the shorts as more games are installed and shortcuts generated.

How do I reactive the sort feature on the Mate Menu so that it all gets sorted out?

I have a similar issue.

I got a desktop computer and a laptop, different hardware but both running Ubuntu Mate 16.04 LTS. When I add a new application from command line or using Ubuntu Software Center a shortcut is added to the existing menus but in my desktop computer is automatically sorted while in my laptop is added always after the last menu entry.

How may I change the setting in order to get the new shortcuts will be sorted automatically by its name?
