Is it possible to get mate-screensaver to display a set of pictures non randomly.
I want to pass a parameter to mate-screensaver that will display the pictures directory by name or date.
Thanks

Edit /usr/share/applications/screensavers/personal-slideshow.desktop
Change Exec=/usr/lib/mate-screensaver/slideshow --location=/home/rory/Pictures
The issue is, it is hard-coded instead in some user's preferences.
To pass a parameter you need a script with sudo privs to change that line.
Other solution: If you install xscreensaver, it stores the configuration in ~/.xscreensaver
There’s an app I have used just for wall paper but they have a companion app that might do what you want.

Hope this helps out.
