Mate-screenserver : can not input password

Hello,

i have a bunch of Users with Lenovo Laptops with Ubuntu-Mate (20.04.x).
Randomly they are not able to input their password on the screensaver lock-screen after suspend.
In this case they have no choice but reboot the machine.
As far as i can see this is an faily old problem, dating back to 2018

Most often the solution which is found on the net is installing an other screensaver (xscreensaver or such) or disabling the screensaver at all.
Does anyone have a solution without changing the screensaver?

It appears to be a bug. You could report it. When trying to unlock after screensaver deactivates, have them click on the Switch user button. This will take them to the login screen, enter their password and it will re enable their current session without losing any work. This is just a workaround mind you.
