Mendeley Desktop Flatpak Not Connecting to LibreOffice (Ubuntu MATE 24.04)

I just installed Mendeley Desktop through Flatpak. However, Mendeley is unable to connect with LibreOffice. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Are you certain you don't have a typo in your post? I searched on Flathub for "mendeley" and several variations of that word, but found nothing. What kind of application is Mendeley?

Thanks, Dave Highland. When I installed it, I ran this: sudo flatpak install flathub com.elsevier.MendeleyDesktop. Mendeley is a citation manager. To use it, it should be able to interact with my word processor, LibreOffice. I tried to find out about this, and I found that connecting Mendeley (Flatpak version) with LibreOffice often fails due to the sandboxing restrictions of Flatpak.

According to this github project...

...Mendeley Desktop has been replaced by Mendeley Reference Manager, and as of last November, the new app had not been published on flathub, perhaps because of the sandboxing problem you mentioned.

The developer website (https://www.mendeley.com/download-reference-manager/linux)
allows you to download a linux appimage packaging of the latest version of Mendeley Reference Manager. Perhaps that will work for you.

Of course, when considering installing third-party apps from outside the Ubuntu repositories, you should exercise caution, do some web research, and make an informed decision as to the risk involved. Mendeley appears to be reputable, but that's a decision you must make for yourself.

Thanks @DaveHighland. The problem is that I still need the older version of Mendeley. Firstly, I have previous writing projects that I need to edit, and they used the older Mendeley. The new version has limited compatibility with citations created using the old version. Secondly, the new version does not come with some functions that I used a lot in the older version. Thirdly, I don't think the new version supports LibreOffice.
