Fresh install of 20.04LTS.
Downloaded VirtualBox and installed via GDebi, no errors reported.
However the app cannot be found on the MATE Menu list.
It "appeared" after logging off and back on.
Tried this with other apps like Thunderbird, etc., this time installed via apt (terminal), same issue.
Is there a way to update the Menu list without logging off?
Any response or help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, it's a topic next need logout or reboot to take effect. In this situation maybe exits something like "apply live patch" in Mate, but in my case don't supose too much annoyance. Not for everyone of course.

It is not annoying anymore as I installed most of what I need now.
As a workaround, I ran "mate-panel --replace" on terminal and that updated the Menu items immediately without logging out. The terminal needs to be left open though.
