Modify menu MATE 1.16.2

Hello,

I am using Raspbian with the MATE Desktop (I know this is an Ubuntu MATE forum but I want to wait until 18.04 and hope here are some MATE Experts). :grinning:

My question is how to configure the main menu. Usually you have to right click on the menu and there you can modify it, but when I click it this option is missing.

Any ideas?

Is Mozo menu editor installed?

If not, then install with:

sudo apt-get install mozo

I am assuming, here, that Mozo editor will work on Rasbian.

Thank you for your quick answer

Yeah that works fine. :+1:

In UM you can configure it as described above, can’t you? Is that feature just integrated in UM or it is depending or the low version of my MATE desktop?

Mickey :relaxed:

Mozo comes pre-installed in the standard UM. I’ve no idea why it is not pre-installed on the Rasbian edition of Mate.

Nonetheless, I am glad to hear it works on Rasbian Mickey.

Just one more question:

How to figure out the command when you click on Shut Down...

and the power off to start the logout where you can choose Shut Down, Cancel or Log Out.

The logout/change user command is:

mate-session-save --logout-dialog

The shutdown/restart/suspend command is:

mate-session-save --shutdown-dialog

Really nice!

Thanks a lot!
