Mouse scrolling on atril and mate-terminal

Hi,
I have a problem with mouse scrolling on atril and mate-terminal - to scroll with the mouse scroll wheel, I need to also depress the scroll wheel button (which pastes!).

This was fine before the 18.04 update…

I’m guessing its just a setting somewhere, but does anyone know what?
Trackpad scrolling works normally… other applications (e.g. firefox etc) also work fine with the mouse.

Just to verify: have you tried with a different mouse? All the mice here work with all applications, including the two you mention. Even if 18.04 changed something, if a different mouse fixes it, replacing the mouse may be an easier route.

Actually, seems to be a gtk3 problem (but only for some executables). I’ve found that exporting GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1 fixes it…

It’s weird that you’re facing this issue… btw what version of UM are you using? And are you using another window manager?

UM? 18.04 (upgraded from 16.04)

I’m using fvwm.

I’ve seen folks encountering this problem when using another WM such as yours. Your workaround fixes it, although it (might) mess with smooth scrolling on touchpad…
