Hi
Anybody has a problem installing/re-installing my-weather-indicator under the new 24.04 LTS ???
Mine works, still works after upgrade. But a friend who just made a fresh install of 24.04 gets a "unable to locate package'
and
Even by downloading the.deb file from Launchpad he gets a
" error dependency is not satisfied girl1.2-webkit2-4.0 "
Help any one ?
W
If one of you guys know how to revive it or point at an alternative way to (re)install it... IT would be very much appreciated.
And I guess I'm not alone
Thx
W
The problem is the PPA does not seem to have been updated to the latest Ubuntu release:

Now, whatever .deb package I want to install I get this (tried through App Center and Terminal and get same):
root@ME:/home/ME# sudo apt install (package name)

Too technical for me
Someone here have an idea what to do ?
Many thanks

If you log on as root (# pound sign), you dont need sudo.
No reason to mask, "root@ME:/home/ME# sudo apt "
looks like the hostname is ME, root is the user but the /home/ME does not make sense.
The atareao repository is not working, ip not found.

Understand the sudo thing
But why is it that I get this and installing another .deb doesn't seem to work ?
W
you may have keys that are not needed, sudo apt-key list
will show them.

Only one shows as 'expired'
If you have a bad ppa, remove it with sudo add-apt-repository --remove <ppa>
repeat sudo apt update
until it is clean.
in my um24.04 I have two keys only.

I just wanted to mention that it appears to have been updated and I have it running beautifully on 24.04.1 LTS. It even found my location without me having to fuss about with it like usual, so that's already a tremendous improvement by me.

YAY - FINALLY !!!
I just installed it too - and it works...mostly.
(Getting it to be at my location remains a work in progress.)
Thanks for the update here Bornagainpenguin.
