Hello everyone I have a problem with popups in my desktop not the browser. It just starting spaming with saying “attention you have a virus” McAffe found 3 viruses etc. It just spaming me in destop. Is there a way to fix this? Please help.

Ok I fixed it! If any1 has the same issue you need to go to your brewser and click seetings and select notifications and remove all the websites that are stored there.

Yep, that's certainly a website that once asked for permission to send notifications. It's all just spammy websites and not a sign of an infection.
I guess it wasn't obvious since these MATE notifications don't show the program name. For example, in KDE:
(That would be a nice to have in MATE - there is a feature request for it)

That 'you have a virus' pops up every now and then but not as much as it used too as user have wised up. It is usually an attempt to frighten the user and sell some kind of anti-virus software or even worse if you click on it to remove the virus it will download a virus to you. The thing to remember is 99.9% of these scams are aimed at MS Windoze.
