Network Manager on a Laptop

HALLOW EVERY-ONE.:hand_splayed::skull::+1:
Its me, Space Punk with my Laptop again :confused:
And this time its about Wi-Fi being the the default connection through a laptop.
Then-Again…
This is understandable, but I want this laptop to have my wired connection as default.
SO…
-How do I change the default connection from “WI-Fi to Wired” in my Network Manager Gnome ??
:sunflower: And of Course I hope Every-One had a BRILLIANT SUMMER. :sunflower:

SpacePunk

Your NM should have 2 check boxes, enable Networking and enable wifi.

If you unclick wifi, the laptop will get network from the rj45 cable (wired). If wifi is enabled, it will get 2 ip’s – one for your eth0 and one for wlan0 (interface names might be different, enp2s0 for wired and wlp2s0 for wifi)

Thanks to @pavlos_kairis for this.
I am there already mate :neutral_face:
When I uncheck any of the connections as enable the system changes them back to what they were after a new Boot.

  • How can I changes this in the system, so that “Ethernet” is the only one marked as the enable connection ???
    :confused: REGARDS :sweat:
    SpacePunk.

Maybe start Edit Connections and uncheck automatic connection for the wireless networks that overlap with your wired one?

This way you can connect to them on demand, but it won’t happen automatically, which is what I guess you want to achieve here.
