Never notifications, Systemctl no Notification service

Hi--I have 22.04. I have meteo-qt as my weather program. When the weather would be updated, I'd get a notification--really worked well. Now, I never get any notifications.

anthony@anthony-OptiPlex-9010:~$ sudo systemctl status notification.service
[sudo] password for anthony:
Unit notification.service could not be found.

I marked System in Tag because I find it weird that systemctl doesn't have a service for notifications, so sorry if I'm wrong. Large popup notifications on desktop informing me of the weather is a great thing. Thanks.

  1. Not sure that such a service exists in Ubuntu Mate. E.g. not your system nor mine has notification.service installed. Next to that, dconf has no org.freedesktop.Notifications entry.
  2. You can verify how Ubuntu Mate notifications work using notify-send <message> command.
  3. IMHO notifications from QT (!) weather applet are application-specific things. No idea what could break them though.

BTW, could not help noticing Gnome emblem shown on your screenshot. Is that the Mate desktop?

Hi. The Gnome emblem is there, but is listed under Add to Panel as the Brisk menu. The desktop is Mate, though.
