Hello!
I updated Folder Color and now it gets a better integration with the current theme in Ubuntu MATE.
To try this, you need to remove pre-installed packages:
sudo apt purge -y folder-color-caja folder-color-common
and install from the PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:costales/folder-color
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install folder-color-caja
caja -q
Could someone update this last version into the repos? Thanks!

From what I understand, you're the developer of the "Folder-Color" ("python-caja") extension for “Caja” (“Caja is the default file manager for the MATE Desktop Environment“) - "GitHub - costales/folder-color: Folder Color for Linux file browsers · GitHub" - https://github.com/costales/folder-color - right? That's great!
Unfortunately, this "Ubuntu MATE Community" is "closing" at the end of this month (April 2026) and at least I don't know how to help in getting your updated version of the folder-color Caja extension "into the repos" (I'm assuming that, by "repos", you mean some kind of "Ubuntu MATE" repositories) 
May I suggest that you post this message of yours in the "Ubuntu MATE" category of "Ubuntu Discourse" / "Ubuntu Community Hub"? The link is the following:

Maybe, if you post there, some "Ubuntu MATE" developer will see your message and possibly will react to it. I see that you also have a "Costales" user in "Ubuntu Discourse" - "Profile - costales - Ubuntu Community Hub" - that you can use to post your message there.

I added the last comment because if there is a MOTU around, the MOTU has the access to upload to the official Ubuntu repo. A hug
