No auto suspend after inactivity

Hi,

after upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04 + Mate 1.26 my laptop does not suspend anymore after x minutes of inactivity. But when i change to Cinnamon it does.

What is wrong here?

You could be running more than one power manager as Ubuntu comes with gnome-power-manager - whereas the MATE desktop has its own power manager (mate-power-manager). This might be causing a conflict/problem.

Otherwise, check your settings is mate-power-preferences.

Hmm, your answer made me realise that my mate-power-manager was not running. Now it (auto)runs and suspends my laptop again. Thanks.

I am impressed btw by the speediness and quality of the answers i receive at this forum.
