Maybe I missed it, but I just noticed there is no calculator in 18.04. I didn’t even see one in the Boutique. Not a big deal as there are millions available on line, just surprised the one utility in every OS was omitted.
Hi @jaybo, That’s odd, I see it in both full and minimal installs.
MATE Calculator and the command is mate-calc
Unless it’s gone in the .1 ISO I haven’t tried yet.
It's there in 18.04.1 according to the manifest.
@jaybo Was this a clean install or an upgrade? Before 17.04 galculator was used instead of MATE Calculator, so I could see an upgrade getting confused and installing none.
Now I would just snap install qalculate since Qalculate! is the best calculator

It was a fresh install.
mate-calc does run a calculator. Now I see it. I should have looked closer. I was skimming the menu for “calculator”, not “Mate Calculator”. My error. Thanks.
I agree with you on Qalculate! What an awesome piece of software
