I installed UM 18.04 on my laptop using btrfs and although Ubuntu is supposed to be able to use a swap file it comes up at least in the system monitor as swap space not available, is this a btrfs issue or what?
Do you have a /swapfile (usually half the size of your ram) ?
-rw------- 1 root root 2147483648 Mar 20 15:18 swapfile

how would I tell if I had one I figured the installer should create on it
did on an earlier installation
If you ls -l / you would see the swapfile.
It does say that i have a swap file
