Option to disable secure boot after update

Hey guys,
after my last software updates i have been asked to disable secure boot.

Can anyone explain why i should do it and what advantage out of this?
Or is it even possible that my computer won’t boot again properly after i disabled the secure boot?

i’ve been asked this three or four times now after an update but always skippedit.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi @PatRick08,

assuming you have an Windows PC with UEFI, you are better of disabling secure boot otherwise the message will most likely keep rearing its ugly head!.

Thanks for your help.

You’re right i have an used windows laptop. i replaced windows with ubuntu.
Is there a possible danger that the computer won’t boot again after i did it?

Hi @PatRick08,

take a look here and have a read through it, it explains really all you need to know about UEFI systems!:
