What launchers are you using in the first and third images?

Isn’t it bettter to put slingscold in the dock ?
The simplest way to to tell Ubuntu Mate and OS X apart is to check resource utilisation on a clean boot.
Ubuntu Mate will use about 400MB.
OSX (10.9 and later) will use close to 2GB.
I decided to give Albert a test and ended up making a PPA for it 
Just disable the Files plugin, that is causing Albert to regularly segfault at the moment.

I dont know if Synapse indicator is still in dev and will it work on mate indicator applet this will bring osx spotlight (or whatever they call it) feature to Ubuntu Mate wich will be a great addition to the desktop
