Other Ubuntu forums

At Ask Ubuntu, folks were answering my questions and my points were going up.

Now, again, they are complaining about not posting good questions.

I want to find other forums so I do not have to post here as much.

Thanks.

AskUbuntu isn’t a forum, but a Question and Answer site, which follows different rules. Stack Exchange run Q&A sites.

The point to Q&A as I see it; is to create a database of specific problems (ie. questions) and list of alternative fixes (ie. answers) will exist. As such, the focus isn’t on support, but you creating questions that fit that Q&A database end purpose; ie. reducing your question to a specific single problem, that can be answered. Sure it’s useful for support, but only if used as it was intended (forum is more focused on support; Q&A has the support as more of a a side-effect of that approach).

If you want a forum format; just use a forum, such as here, Ubuntu’s Discourse, or numerous others.

Q&A will suit specific questions, but if your question is broad (a specific closure rule on Stack Exchange) it needs to be broken down first into multiple individual questions that deal with each component (fitting SE rules), and thus a forum is often easier for those only wanting support with broad/complex questions.

( Much of how I see Q&A and Stack Exchange, particularly Ask Ubuntu is on various videos where SE/AskUbuntu moderators were interviewed about the site & operation etc; I do use it myself but rarely for seeking help. AskUbuntu is a Stack Exchange site focused on Ubuntu, but NOT a Ubuntu site )

I know you mean well.

But are things that you can not discern.

I will do a search for "Ubuntu forums."
