Persistent USB Issues

Hi there,

I used Rufus to create a 64gb live ubuntu mate installation with 55gb of persistent storage. I thought everything was working great, but I'm having a few issues.

I feel like programs are supposed to install on the persistent partition I have created, but they don't look like they do. Anything I put on the "casper-rw" partition is saved over reboot, but I have to be root to copy files over to it. I'd also like to be able to create a new user that is persistent if possible.

What I want is to be able to boot up, log into my user account, and be able to install packages and save files to my persistent partition.

Am I missing something? Have I done something wrong? Can someone help me please?

Perhaps my recent post can be of some help. Please see -

Good luck sean-thomasdoesmate .
