Pluma Terminal Plugin

Hi,

I was looking for a terminal plugin for pluma in preferences, but couldn’t find one.

I’m sure gedit used to have one, but seem to recall needing to install an extra gedit-plugins package, or something…

Do you know if there’s currently a pluma-plugins package, or something to that effect, to allow me to an enable a pluma terminal plugin in the bottom sidebar?

Kind regards,
Nathan Russell

Is this what you are looking for?

Caja is the file manager, I believe.

I was hoping to use the terminal bottom pane plugin with the file manager side pane to create a geany-esque layout with the pluma text editor.

Thanks v3xx, but I’m not sure that’s what I was looking for.

My apologies, do not why I was thinking caja.

What is the name of the plugin in gedit?

Have you tried to install the gedit plugin? It is possible to use gedit plugins in pluma.

A search gave me hits on a terminal plugin for pluma, but I’m not sure what your after.

Terminal, from the gedit-plugins package.

“Terminal: A simple terminal widget accessible from the bottom panel.”

I haven’t tried… Other than installing the gedit-plugins package, I’ve never manually installed a plugin. Is it just a matter of copying the files into a plugins/ directory?

Let me give it a try

Its on my to do list.

Thanks, that’s fabulous!

I made it back

I have not had any luck with the terminal-plugin :frowning:

I have tried adding different versions of the gedit plugin package

http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/gedit-plugins

to different directories, some listed here:

This look completely doable to me, I must be missing something, I wonder if it could be the configuration file (~/.config). Maybe someone else will jump in with some fresh ideas.

Another possibility I have not explored is installing an old plugin package that has the terminal plugin.

I am sorry, but I lack the time to pursue this any further.
