powerPc download link is broken

PowerPc download link is broken.

@lah7 Looks like the 16.04.2 PPC direct download link has the wrong filename.

Try this download page -

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-mate/releases/16.04.2/release/

Thanks for noticing, this has been fixed (but I think server caching is still showing the old version).

Unfortunately, there just isn’t a 16.04.2 version for PowerPC. :frowning:

It appears that you can still get the 16.04 version (earlier) if that is useful.

Still broken/missing as of today!

At the Download section multiple URL’s to the PowerPC iso of ubuntu-mate 16.04.2 are listed (direct file and torrent link) but the files are not available on the ubuntu server and the hash is valid for the older 16.04.1 edition: 59ee1a0bfd9995aa71edeb8c011536c815b6980392b527ae243c2a5835b8d43d

Since there is a 16.10 version a 16.04.2 with 4.8 kernel should be possible, after that powerpc is dropped at ubuntu if I’m not mistaken…

Links have been fixed, pointing to 16.04.1 as it should have been doing.

Since there isn’t a 16.04.2 for the PowerPC, it’s just meddled with how we generate the download page. :confounded:

A 16.04.2 version looks unlikely, as it’s being dropped from “future releases” (as of December 2016) which might include 16.04.2 (February 2017)

Thanks for fixing the links. I have only found server builds of ubuntu 16.04.2 ppc, but those might indeed be 64bit only. I’m curious if there is perhaps a LTS stack available (new kernel/xorg/mesa) when upgrading 16.04.1 ppc since 16.10 desktop ppc was made. But its probably the end for these vintage machines.
