I am wondering if anyone knows of a PPA that would help to automate the updating of printer drivers for Epson printers. I cannot find such a thing at Epson’s site.
I recently had to diagnose why one of my Epson printers (a model WF-4720) started rejecting jobs when connected via wifi. The fix that worked was to install a recently updated escpr2 driver from Epson, published just this month. The problem surfaced on machines that run either UM 18.04 or 18.10, with CUPS 2.2.7 or 2.2.8. I am guessing that some network or CUPS update was tangled up in this.
So, if you know of a PPA that could help with future updates, I am very interested.
