Hello,
Ubuntu Mate 16.04.1 had/has an issue with the printer switching to status = unabled.
That is, after an initial successful installation with the correctly ( proposed ) driver the printer goes from status = abled to unabled.
Uninstalling and reinstalling brings no relief.
Is this issue resolved in Mate 16,10 ?

Hi,
printer make and model please!.

Hello,
this is about a Samsung HL-1055, but it happens with a HP color jet as well
and with a Dell-1100 too. So the make of the printer doesn´t really matter.
All these printers showed no problem in Ubuntu Mate 15.
Obviously in ver.16 something is wrong where printing is concerned.
regards.

Let us know what happens please.
In Ubuntu MATE 14.04 my printer became disabled after an update. At first I didn’t know what was wrong.
I opened the main menu, went to Administration, then Printers. I selected my printer and marked the checkbox “Enabled”.
After that my printer worked again. It was just some update that disabled it.
Hello,
This was the very first thing I did too, but to no avail.
Thank you nevertheless for your input.
