Processes Using Up CPU Resources

Loving Ubuntu MATE so far but having problems with certain processes using up my CPU resources.
I have 5 processes that are using my CPU pretty heavily. 4 out of the 5 are in a Sleeping status. :frowning:

  • wpa_supplicant : Running : 48%
  • systemd-journald : Sleeping : 32%
  • rsyslogd : Sleeping : 26%
  • NetworkManager : Sleeping : 24%
  • dbus-daemon : Sleeping : 18%

Is this normal? Any suggestions?

PS. I’m running an Dell Inspiron 6400, Intel Core Duo (T2250, 1.73GHz), 2.5GB RAM, OCZ Vertex4 128GB.

Curious, what did you before use previous distro?

I was on Lubuntu 15.04 previously. No issues with it. Thought I’d try out Ubuntu MATE after hearing all the good reviews about it.

Just tried using systemctl mask xxx.service but no change even after re-logging on.

Does anyone know what each of those processes/services is for?

Can you reinstall boot? if possible you can do, sometime, it worked after reinstall.

if again the same problem, let us know, thanks.

Reinstalled Ubuntu MATE and that seems to have solved it.
Might have been a package that I installed previously.
