During normal operation (running is Pi-Hole and sometimes the DV4mini service dv_serial) the free memory is degrading permanently. You can see this on the log of my monitoring routine (http://www.oe1gpa.at/download/radiopi_screen.jpg).
Can anyone give me a hint how to overcome that situation? If the reason can not be found then at least to have a solution for freeingn the dead memory?
My old PasPi 3 is running under Wheezy and has not that problem.
Best regards
Gerald
I have to add I am using Ubuntu Mate 16.04.2 !
At the risk of ignoring the obvious: Have you rebooted the system to see if your “lost” memory gets reinstated? Something you’re running might just be leaking memory.
If you haven’t, and a reboot does reinstate it, and the memory starts shrinking, it will come down to figuring out what it is that’s doing it. Einfach, aber nicht unmöglich.
This routine is also implemented in my monitoring tool:
